Silk Reeling, Spiral Power, and Core Chen Taijiquan Mechanics Level 6 represents the stage where the practitioner enters the core system of Chen Style Taijiquan (陳式太極拳 – Chén Shì Tàijíquán). Training is no longer based on linear movement, but on spirals, rotations, and the integration of internal mechanics with external expression. This level introduces foundational training in open-hand Tao Lu (套路 – Tàolù) and internal development: Chen 56 Form (陈氏56式太极拳): establishes structure, rhythm, and coordinated whole-body movement Tai Chi 5 Element Routine: develops fundamental patterns and directional awareness In parallel, internal cultivation is strengthened through Chan Si Gong (纏絲勁), Dao Yin Shu (導引術), Tai Ji Yang Sheng Zhang (太極養生杖), and Ruler Qi Gong, reinforcing Qi (氣 – Qì) circulation and internal connection 💨 At this stage, the practitioner must understand key Chen principles: Chan Si Jing (纏絲勁): continuous silk reeling energy Luo Xuan Jin (螺旋勁): spiral force throughout the body Fa Jing (發勁): introduction to explosive power ⚡ Kuai Man Xiang Jian (快慢相間): alternating fast and slow tempo These are trained through drills such as silk reeling exercises, joint opening (開關節), stepping methods, and basic shaking (抖勁功法). The coordination of the Three Dantians (三丹田 – Sān Dāntián) becomes essential: Lower Dantian initiates rotation and root 🌱 Middle Dantian regulates breath 💨 Upper Dantian directs intent 🧠 Through correct pelvic alignment (天圓 – Tiānyuán), the body remains connected, allowing Qi to sink (氣沉丹田) and spiral through the entire structure 🔗 Purpose of the Training The purpose of Level 6 is to establish Chen Taiji mechanics through spiral movement and internal rotation. The practitioner learns to: Develop movement as spiral, not linear Coordinate Dantian rotation (丹田轉動) with the body Introduce Fa Jing (發勁) in a controlled way Understand the difference between Chen and Yang methods
