Subduing the Tiger, Bearing the Stone: The Way of the Wooden Fist (伏虎載石,木拳之道)

ABOUT

In this profound level of training, students will begin to understand the deeper essence of Tiger Style Kung Fu—not merely as a fighting system, but as a path of character, discipline, and ancestral tradition. This section introduces the sacred bond between Sifu and student, emphasizing mutual respect, loyalty, and the lineage-based transmission of knowledge. The student will explore the practical application of Fu Jow (虎爪 | Tiger Claw) techniques, learning how to employ them effectively for self-defense, controlled sport sparring, and strategic combat situations. Special attention will be given to how the Wood Element (木行 | Muk6 Hang4) manifests in the Tiger’s movement—through direct force, forward pressure, and rooted strength—and how to apply this element strategically in various combat scenarios. Additionally, students will study: The cultural rituals and philosophy that support traditional Kung Fu training The foundations of Tiger-style stances, posture, and structure The mental mindset of the Tiger: assertive, unyielding, and grounded in willpower This module not only strengthens the body—it sharpens the spirit, anchors tradition, and teaches the student how to walk the Way of the Wooden Fist with dignity, resilience, and ferocity.
